You always gotta be prepared, but you never know for what.
I am going to put up some very different story songs. What I
want students to do with them is:
listen to them all and then pick one as a focus.
reflect on
the story
the music
the characters
the point of view
the "message"
decide what sort of analytic approach is best suited to the song
historical
literary
anthropological
psychological (freudian, Jungian, etc,)
musicological
Marxian
Feminist
Sociological
another?
Note features of the song you would use to focus the analysis you decided as best suited to the song
